(Prayers)
Importance
of Salah (Prayers)
For
a Muslim, Shahadah (Faith)
is the very basic requirement. After Shahadah
(Faith), offering Salah
(Prayers) is the most significant
duty for every Muslim.
Allah (God) has commanded
Muslims to offer prayers five times a day. Offering
Salah (Prayers)
has been excessively stressed upon both in the Qur-an
and the Ahadith (Sayings
of Muhammad S). According to Qur-an,
the prayer wards off every kind of sin and evil practices.

Recite
what is sent of the Book by inspiration to you, and
establish Regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains
from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of
Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without
doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that
you do.

The
Messenger of Allah, Muhammad S said:
“Prayer is the Mi’raj (Ultimate
Elevation) of the believer.” In Salah
(Prayers), Arabic term for
Islamic Prayers; believers directly face their Lord, the
Lord of the Universe. Salah
(Prayers)
establishes a direct relationship between the slaves and
their Master. Salah (Prayers)
is also called the soul of the religion Islam.
Prerequisite for Salah (Prayers)
is Taharah (Purification)
of body, clothes, deeds and thoughts.
