He was a nephew of Muhammad
S.
His father Sufyan bin ‘Abdul Asad was a cousin
of Muhammad S.

bin Sufyan
R was married
to Barrah bint ‘Abdul Muttalib, an aunt of
Muhammad
S.
Habbar bin Sufyan
R was from Banu
(Family of) Makhzum, a famous
clan of the Quraysh tribe.
His
uncle ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abdul Asad R,
better known as Abu Salamah
R, achieved
Shahadah (Martyrdom) in the
year 4H (Hijrah). He succumbed to the injuries
he received in the battle of Uhud.

was also nursed by Thaubiyah, who had nursed
Muhammad S
for the first few days of his life.

convert to Islam.

(Ethiopia), which was ruled by a kind hearted Christian
king Najjashi (Negus). Najjashi
(Negus) welcomed the migrant Muslims to his
country and allowed them to stay there as long as they wished.

year 9BH (Before Hijrah) (613 AD).
