Asma' bint 'Umays R was one of the wives of Abu Bakr R.

Asma' bint 'Umays R was earlier married to Ja'far bin Abu Talib R, one of the brothers of 'Ali bin Abu Talib R.

'Ali bin Abu Talib R was the fourth Khalifah (Caliph) of Muslims.

Ja'far bin Abu Talib R had migrated in the first Hijrah (Migration) to Habash (Ethiopia). In Habash (Ethiopia), Ja'far bin Abu Talib R was the leader of the migrant Muslims.

After the death of Abu Bakr R, 'Ali bin Abu Talib R married Asma' bint 'Umays R.

Ja'far bin Abu Talib R and his brother, 'Ali bin Abu Talib R, were the grandsons of 'Abdul Muttalib.

The Messenger of Allah, Muhammad S, the last Rasul (Messenger) of Allah (God) was also a grandson of 'Abdul Muttalib.
